When I was in my 50's I experimented with many eye creams trying to find one that would balance effectiveness and price. Cream wins in this regard. While some eye creams have a more serum-like consistency, this cream is very rich/thick and silky - you can see in my overview photo that a spoonful of eye cream holds its shape rather than dripping down my fingertip. But it also absorbs quickly and easily and leaves no greasy/oily shine. I've only been using it for a few weeks so I haven't seen much of an improvement as it says on the pack after 4 weeks such as "reduction of dark circles and bags under the eyes". But it definitely lived up to its promise of hydrating and firming the skin around my eyes, and helped my tired eyes look brighter and refreshed. Hours after applying this eye cream, my eye area still looks smooth and healthy and nourished. So I love just about everything about this eye cream and find that it performs as well - if not better - than many "luxury" brand eye creams on the market. Given L'Oreal's quality and effectiveness for the price, I think this eye cream is a good choice. My only (minor) gripe with this product is that a full pump of the dispenser delivers a large portion of eye cream, which is probably double the amount needed to cover the entire eye area, which seems a bit wasteful and means the bottle runs out . faster than necessary. But I brush the excess cream around the corners of my mouth, that's the only other area where I'm starting to see fine lines, so I won't waste a single drop!
