The red is a beautiful true red color but in the first cold delicate wash it bled over to the white side, making it an unattractive pink. I had also purchased the purple version of this blanket, which I had washed first and did not bleed so I was very surprised and disappointed. I'm glad I washed them separately! Both blankets are very soft and cozy feeling on both sides of the blanket. Kid is very happy with red color and doesn't want to exchange for different color so I'm keeping both even though it will continue to bother me. I'm hoping it doesn't accidentally get washed with anything important.
