I think it's a bit small for my big cat (12.8lbs and large/long) but she manages to get in and turn around and she does loves it so i think it works fine. Attached is a photo of a large child. The wood is pretty thin but I don't think it needs to be more durable. It was easy to assemble, except for the roof, which I had a hard time aligning. The instructions weren't particularly helpful. The tree also had a slightly strange smell at first, but that seems to have dissipated within a week. The pillow is quite soft. very cozy. However, she already has a heated cat bed. :3
