It replaced a dingy looking PVC-U siphon on a wall mounted sink that was probably assembled with what the plumber had on his truck. It looks great and is very easy to attach. To achieve a similar fit with a standard chrome siphon you will most likely need a pipe cutter and female thread tap. Note that the o-ring is on the cleaning drain plug unless you are applying sealant to the threads. All in all, this is a very high-quality product that is worth a relatively high price.
