Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Scubapro Mako Stainless Dive Knife by David Ramirez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Only 1/2 blade sharpened

I have this knife. One of the things you would expect is the non-serrated side to have a sharp edge. It is not. Only the jagged edge and the end of the tanto are recreated with the edge. The back of the knife I bought is flat. Not a big problem, but it's different than advertised. This point is not clear; even from ScubaPro and some reviews online. I've only dived with it once and it's holding up reasonably well, but I didn't have to cut anything other than a few strips. It seems like a decent knife, but be aware that if you want a traditional cutting blade on the "back" you will have to spend a lot of time trying to square the blade at a 90 degree angle.

Pros
  • Serrated edge for sawing heavier ropes and branches.
Cons
  • Only available in black
