Review on πŸ’¨ Gaiatop USB Desk Fan: Small, Powerful, and Portable for Efficient Cooling by Danielle Landry

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not a big fan of this device.

So far I have bought 3 different brands of table fans from Revain. This one is without a doubt my least favorite. The table fan Gaia Top lives up to the description "strong". Of the three fans, this is without a doubt the strongest. However, you have to pay for it.1. It's so obnoxiously loud! Even at the lowest settings, this fan sounds like a miniature jet turbine. In fact, it's so loud that I brought it home from my office where I wanted to use it because it was obscenely loud. When I need to replace one of my other purchased desktop fans so I can use it at work. not a very good sign. I can't even mention the medium and high settings, which lead to the next problem. 2: It must be placed on a surface (mouse pad, ribbon, etc.) that prevents it from moving. Whoever checked the quality of the fan, I believe they held it to make sure it turned on and let the air out. Because I haven't yet found a desk, table or bedside table with a bare surface that doesn't allow a fan to blow across the table. Whoever thought of a light base and four corner half-rubber "plugs" didn't think of the physics of it. That speaks well for the performance of the engine, but not for the design.3. I had to buy two. The first fell off my desk (see issue above) and one of the fan blades broke. Without exaggeration. OUT. Out of morbid curiosity, I went to the other two fans, turned them on and threw them off the table too: nothing. They didn't even stop blowing. So I thought "must be an accident" so I bought another one ($6.99 I mean I'll take the loss). But the table is an ordinary computer desk and fell on a thick carpet. I understand the need for lightweight materials to keep costs down but at least make him more durable if he chooses to walk over a table and throw himself off a cliff of his own free will. All in all, I cannot recommend this device. I would have preferred the 6 inch BESKAR USB fan (which I bought 3 of because I like them so much) for $14.99 which is double the price but more than 10 times the utility and value of the Gaia Top. Pros: Great airflow. .Cheap (by all accounts) Cons: Stupidly noisy Moves on its own unless weighted/placed on a separate surface Uncomfortably noisy Fragile and fragile Did I mention how LOUD IT IS!?

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
