The actual dimensions of these eyelets barely match the published 6 x 13mm. More importantly, the threaded section at the bottom is very, very small. So small that the pilot hole drilled with a 1/16" drill bit is too large for the threads to accommodate the edges of the hole. I measured the threaded part with a micrometer and got 0.058 inches - a bit shy. 3/64 and a little less than 1/16. In other words, we can say that a wire which is twisted in the shape of a screw eye and has a thread on one end. It is a thinner gauge than what you find in trash cans at the hardware store.
