Review on Nespresso Lattissima Touch by De'Longhi Espresso Machine with Milk Frother - Washed Black by Tasha Folan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's so easy to get hooked

PROS+ Easy to install, despite the novelty of the instruction manual+ Easy to use (see cons: buttons)+ Incredibly fast brewing time without loss of quality (it takes less than a minute to prepare a drink). latte macchiato)+ Beautiful and sleek design that surprisingly doesn't take up much space (you'll need about 1 cubic foot of space, but you'll need plenty of headroom to fill the water tank - see neutral settings for the water tank)+ Highly customizable, including coffee/milk volume, so you can make the perfect drink for your cup and taste (see cons re: manual) NEUTRAL milk is attached because if you just pull it out something bad will happen (ask me how I know - see PS) * The water tank, while elegant and intricately designed, takes some getting used to because you have to carry it by the lid and you're always afraid that the lid will somehow come off (didn't happen you, but I'll update it for sure if that's the case) plus it's so small you'll have to refill it every few cups. CONS - The guide, as I mentioned, is novel and in some cases not very good; It lacks a detailed front or back legend (which might not be a big deal if you're already familiar with DeLonghi or espresso drinks), and some instructions have you jumping from page to page. ; The good news is that once you get comfortable with the coffee maker, you don't need to refer to it as much, just keep it just in case - Nespresso pods are expensive, costing 70 cents - $1+ per cup. (double if you need more than one pod per drink) and there's not much competition - certainly not as big as Keurig K-Cups - and they're incredibly difficult to buy offline (i.e. I have to travel 10 miles to the nearest Nespresso -Boutique driving, no less than a mile to my famous local grocer) -Cleaning (I mean *complete* cleaning) the milk dispenser is a mission, especially with all the little details. which has to be disassembled and soaked before washing (I'm always afraid of losing the milk frother knob or the key fob that locks it). IMPORTANT: If you're one of those people who bought reusable K-Cups because you want to reduce your environmental impact, doing the same with this one will be harder. The options available are limited and questionable based on their ratings. The good news is that Nespresso recycles their used capsules and you can order recycling bags for free on their website, which you can then ship to any UPS. I may update this review from time to time as I continue to use Lattissima, but if you have a question about this or my experience with it, please leave a comment and I will do my best to respond.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
