This product is a set of custom fitted plastic floor mats for your vehicle, in this case a 2014 Mazda 3. They replace (not cover) the factory floor mats with leveling and mounting studs on your vehicle floor. Unlike carpet or factory fitted all-weather floor mats, these floor mats provide full floor coverage and rise slightly on the sides. This not only coats the underside of carpets, but also parts of the vertical surfaces surrounding the carpet, protecting your vehicle better than traditional floor mats. This product competes with Weather Tech branded floor mats and there are differences. The big plus is that both front and rear floor mats are included. The Weather Tech brand only comes with the front, but the price is about the same. Rear mats sold separately. The price was a deciding factor for me as my children systematically ruined the carpet and floor mats in the back seat. Weather Tech blankets aren't twice as good as these. Second quality. Weather Tech carpets appear to be made from a heavier material. This may or may not matter, as long as they cover the ground sufficiently the end result will be the same. I had Weather Techs in my old car and they held up great for a couple of years. Time will tell but they seem strong enough. Finally, these mats have attachment points so they snap onto studs that level the mats and hold them in place. Factory floor mats must be removed to fit them. This means you need to find a place to STORE the factory floor mats while you own the car. The Weather Tech floor mats in my old car just lay on top of the factory floor mats. It's a matter of taste, but I prefer to leave my factory floor mats in. They are currently only available in black for my car. Conclusion: good mats, better price than weather technology.
