We have a split adjustable king size bed. We use a wedge between two mattresses. Instead of two double sheets we use one sheet per width and one flat sheet. The wedge helps keep the mattresses close together and the sheet keeps the consoles from falling to the bottom of the frame. The sheet does not impede the movements of adjustable mattresses. This works fine for us.
