TLDR: These are amazing lights; RUGGED construction, great fit, great light output. A direct plug and play install took about 10 minutes to complete a full install on my Tacoma 2014 (2nd Gen). worth your money. I recommend 10/10. Theory/My requirements: I bought some headlights for my truck from Revain. My general theory is that LED technology today, even at very average lighting levels, is vastly superior to peak lighting for real racing applications just ten years ago, and because it has become so affordable I generally treat it as a consumable. Material; They are not purchases forever. The comparisons I've seen between a bunch of nameless lighting and really high-end stuff like Baja Designs, Diode Dynamics, Rigid, etc. seem pretty insignificant in the overall scheme of things, especially when put in the context of your average user and user without Achieve Baja 1000 like me. My needs are dim mountain pass lighting and campground/work area lighting, and I have purchased additional lighting to meet those needs (Nilight primarily). They work well and I have few complaints about the cost. Why I bought it: Unfortunately, one of my factory OEM "driving lights" or "fog lights" (although clear) leaked and filled with water, destroying part of the reflector. passenger assembly. I was concerned about cataracts on my beautiful truck and started looking for a replacement. Many of the options were cheaper than this, and after riding more I realized that Amber Stream would be best for my needs here in Colorado where the trails can get dark and dusty/snowy. They seemed to have pretty good reviews and despite the extra cost putting them right between my Nilights and something like Rigid I decided to give them a try. I was beginning to worry that they would be the same as the Nilights but for a little more money. I chose them primarily for what appeared to be the setup advertised, but was a bit concerned because after I ordered they only seemed to show a 3rd gen setup (although Revane told me they fit my 2nd gen). Both of my fears were unfounded. They ended up arriving in a surprisingly small box which for some reason was wrapped in a brown paper mailer and the box suffered some damage as a result. When I opened the box I found the lanterns appeared undamaged and when I took one out I was shocked at its weight and strength. I'm serious; I couldn't believe how much more substantial they are compared to my Nilight nebulae (which work pretty well). The build quality of these things only dwarfs the quality of the Nilights and it should cost three times as much. Aesthetics and Fit: Aesthetically, I'm a bit dated and like round lenses. This is a more typical "capsule" type with four smaller round holes; it gives the impression that a square light is placed in a round hole. I wasn't sure how they would look on the truck, but I set about installing them anyway. Installation couldn't be easier. To give myself a little more space, I pulled two 10mm fender mounts on the front bumper. I then discovered that there are only two Philip #2 screws holding each bulb in place. I got over this very quickly and wondered how effective the light adjustment knob would be (still don't know as they were pretty much where I wanted them out of the box; will update this if I get around at all) . Installation was quick; They fit perfectly and the entire surgery was done in 10 minutes or less. They came with pigtails but they weren't needed or useful for my truck and they just tucked right into the seat belts. I would say that I would like to see a weather seal there. I don't know why they didn't have them like braids. If I had any grievances against them, so be it. After the install I did what anyone would do and stood back to take a look at what I had just done. You look great. You look fantastic! It's a clean design that works really well in lighting holes. Although this is subjective, I think they look a lot better than the original headlights. Well, while I'm happy with them, the final test is whether they work or not. I push my OEM switch on the dash and sure enough they light up right away. Just like they came with the truck. I wasn't too surprised by this, but once again I was very pleased that there was no fuss and accidental misconnection of the positive and negative wires, which seems to be a fairly common problem with other manufacturers' LED lights. Exploitation; How Well They Work: All that's left is light output. I will say that they are very bright. Maybe not the full bright Diode Dynamic SS3, but they once again outshine my 6.5" Nilight 18032C-B Amber combo lights, even though the Nilights were $30 again and they were $135. When I turn my headlights on full it's daylight and it's the second most powerful headlight I have; The 7-inch Nilight headlights are the strongest. With the addition of these iJDMTOY headlights, I'm reconsidering the 7-inch amber headlights and 6.5-inch Nilight fog lights, which now feel like overkill. This would allow me to move the 6.5 inch headlights to the side as a work light or to the rear as a follow light and install a smaller headlight for the top of the truck to replace the headlights, reducing frontal area and probably some would eliminate wind noise (not that I actually heard it). Final thoughts and summary: If you're considering this I'd say unless you're racing or don't need the guarantee of a really really trusted brand for some very serious off-road adventures. , this is probably the right compromise between cost and performance. There are more of these than I need, and honestly as many as I want, at a fraction of the price of the nearest branded equivalent. They're several times more expensive than the cheapest options, but the quality (at least the initial quality) seems worth the upfront cost if you're into that sort of thing. While I still consider headlights expendable, they are much smaller than the nilights (and bunkers) found elsewhere on my truck. The kit includes headlights (which can be adjusted), pigtails and a pair of screws (hex head). ). There are no wiring harnesses or switchgear associated with it. They are straight plug and play and fit great. The light output is excellent and exceeded all my expectations. Fit and finish are very, very good. They seem sturdy and very well made. 10/10 recommend.
