Review on Perler Beads Carry Craft Activity by Linda Diaz

My 4 and 6 year olds received these Perler Bead Sets for Christmas along with extra beads and pattern books. My six year old wanted to do this immediately. I have to admit that opening the storage compartments was a bit difficult at first, but once you figure out how to do it, it will be easy. My kids can now even open most of them themselves. They just ask me to open a branch from time to time. You need to press the tabs and then pull up. Once you understand this, opening it will be quite simple. However, this is not so easy, because you are afraid that the compartment will open by itself and all the pearls will be scattered everywhere. My kids love the fact that they can only do part of a project and then put it off until later without having to ask for help. Worry that the picture will be damaged. They like books sold separately (Perler Beads 110 Patterns). They have several versions that include 3D templates. My daughter assembled a unicorn and elephant that stand alone. My son built a car that stands by itself. Pictures can be placed under the transparent pegboard. Kids can clean up a project when they are not working on it. That way they don't have to lie on the kitchen table until they're done. You can also take your project with you on the go. My daughter picked and worked in the car while I drove somewhere. They also took her to her grandmother's house. The only downside I see with this set is that it only fits on a square pegboard. My kids got extra pegboards (heart, circle, hexagon and star) which are also transparent. But this kit does not provide for their use. However, we put a piece of thick cardboard where the square pegboard lies, and more pieces on top (just one piece at a time). The total thickness of the carton and the additional forms has reached the same thickness as that of square hole plates. When the Perler beads were installed, the lid was tight and held the beads and board in place. Ever since we got this set, the kids have been asking me to iron their projects so they can start a new one. I plan to buy more Perler beads in the near future.
