I'm not picky. I just wanted a portable (no frills) curling iron to curl my bangs. The clip on the straightener that holds your hair has a slit you can see at the base and although it's narrower at the tip my fine hair slips through every time so I really can't use it. This may not be a problem for thick hair, but remember that the stem is very short. It will take forever to do a full head with a decent hair length. I would hardly recommend it for touching up or bangs on thick and short hair, useless for thin or thin hair.
