Brown Velvet Wig Grip Band - Adjustable MainBasics Headband Review

I am not a daily wig wearer, but I decided to get this because I got tired of wig clips tearing into and breaking my hair, and one of my favorite wigs is just big enough that it tends to slip. This band is very soft and adjusts with a sturdy Velcro closure. It really helps secure my wigs and it doesn't give me a headache.

This product works as it says it will. For women who wear wigs frequently, i would recommend wearing a stocking cap under this as the "grip" does not discriminate. Just as it grips the wig, it also grips your edges. I never have to use clips or combs any more. The downside, this stretches out over time. By over time, I mean a matter of months. There is only a small tab of velcro and once it stretches out, it reaches the plastic label on the grip and wont stick to that part. So this leaves you…

I got the headband quickly and was excited to use it. First thing taking it out of the package it seemed a bit cheap poorly made and it was to big even putting it tight I couldn't tighten it all the way because I ran out of velcro. I got my wig however and put it on fixed it got everything adjusted and was happy until I bent down to put on my shoes and my wig came right off the band was still on but it didn't hold the wig on at all. My main issue with this wig grip is that it's thick. I've used other brands before that were a lot thinner. This one may cause a bit of a hump in the front of the wig.I will say that it's comfortable and personally, I use it at night as an edge protector under my scarf. It also prevents my scarf from slipping off at night. I like the product, it's just a lot of material.I purchased the beige and the brown. This is the best wig cap I've gotten from Best Buy. One was 18.99, it was ok but stretched out very fast and sometimes you'd really have to work for it to stay flat. The 2nd I ordered was by GEX, 11.99, and it was an absolute piece of garbage. The band wasn't even long enough to fit the fastener onto the velcro. I had to use bobby pins to keep it in place! It stretched out super easily and the band FURLED up so bad! Anyway after a while i needed a new wig grip and didn't want to waste my money…

I’ve previously bought a similar product that was much more expensive and this one is every bit as good. This is the only brand of wig band you’ll ever need! Don’t forget when you put it on, wear it so the texture of the velvet is "rough” if you run your finger from bottom to top. That texture is what helps keep the wig from sliding up and off your head. I love this wig band!

This is one of those " quality of life " items. It blew my mind. I understand it is Not for every wig. But WOW for mine it was a game changer. I had no idea how I could tolerate a wig slipping and scratching my head. A friend sent this to me…. I couldn’t believe it. I put it on then the wig…. it was unreal. The wig stayed put. I did not feel the wig on my head wore it all day no trouble. GREAT PRODUCT for the right wig.

I was skeptical, but it really does work. I have zero reason to worry walking around, or even head-banging type movements.No reason to worry about glue or caps, or anything fancy; just pop this on. Not sure how well it would do for a professional, but it's amazing for casual wear.

The band came in on time and works like a charm. I used it for many appearances from small wigs to large heavy wigs and it kept them on like a charm. I will certainly be purchasing more for my team of character performers.

I bought this less than a year ago for half the price and the velcro no longer sticks. I don't wear wigs but I use this after I wrap my hair to keep my scarf from slipping off at night so there isn't a lot of movement or taking it on and off throughout the day. I have to tie the ends together now to keep it on which is a pain, literally, and for the low price I previously bought it for I wouldn't have minded so I came back to reorder it anyway and realized the new price is double. in this price

I knew I should've sprung for the more expensive one, but having never tried these before, I figured go cheap in case it's not for me. Here's the good and bad.The Good: Its soft, and once it's on your head you can barely tell it's there unless you've pulled your wig too tight. Then you get a headache. It also wasn't noticeable in any of my wigs, like some reviews mentioned. Though I will add that most of mine have bangs, which helped to conceal it a little. I wouldn't buy this for lacefront…

It works! I'm new to wearing wigs and found myself constantly self-consciously adjusting my wig as it slid back on my head. I had used bobby pins to hold it on and they weren't working. I hadn't tried glue yet, but that sounds so messy. This arrived today. The label tells you how to put it on. I've been wearing it about an hour and it is holding my wig in place securely. This works really good and I like it, but it costed $10 and I got 2 on here for the same price which looked just like the exact same type, and they worked just as good. They each kept my wig in place good, were comfortable had good stretch, etc. So that was weird.

It stretches out like crazy after a short while and is now quite misshapen. I would recommend having a couple of them to swap out so it's not being overworked. Also worth noting is that if I'm being very active while wearing this, it will sometimes slide up the back of my head, taking the wig with it. Keep that in mind if you've got very short hair like I do.

This "strap” is very easy to use, comfortable in every way, No pressure or concerns about tearing or”digging” into forehead. Absolutely a MUST for wearing a wig of any kind…whenever the situation calls to wear one…and enjoying the outcome. Thank you for this product.
