I have a 2000w inverter and it's great that it's hardwired into the 110v main circuit of my Class C RV (with two batteries and a 100w solar panel). Therefore, most of my 110 volt outlets are "live" when the inverter is on, allowing me to run the electronics without a generator while driving or roaming. I haven't had any issues with it yet, and my 1100 watt coffee maker has worked great while camping. As we crossed I-70 from Ohio to Utah, it was nice to see a few fans blowing in the faces of the passengers seated at the dinette. My wife even used her foot massager as we drove hour after hour on the interstate. Such nice amenities and since the motor charges the batteries while driving there is no problem with the batteries draining. I have to thank the Voltworks customer service department for their incredible service. Before I bought it I emailed them a few questions and always got quick and helpful replies. As soon as I received it, the number of questions increased because I was planning to install it myself. Always prompt answers. I ended up asking a professional to install and connect it, but I still had questions about how to use it and they continued to answer all my questions. I'm glad it has so many built-in security measures. The installers added a fuse between the battery source and the inverter. It's in a compartment under the bed with other electronics, so the installers added vents because the inverter can generate heat and needs to dissipate it. Because it's hidden I don't have the benefit of seeing the display on top of the unit, but I do have a battery voltage gauge on the panel of my solar controller. Keep in mind that this inverter is big and heavy - 16 inches long, 8 inches wide and 4 inches high and weighs nearly 9 pounds. My installers had to reinforce the wood panel where it was installed. The included 5AWG battery cables were fine with me since the distance to the power supply was only about 18 inches, but for longer runs you'll need heavier gauge cables. A handy remote on/off switch that gives you an overview of the battery status. With more experience I plan to try higher wattage units if needed and see how much load the inverter can handle. This is a reliable inverter that works well for my needs in my RV. I am glad that no matter what question arises, they immediately give me exhaustive answers.
