The real deal with the best external components

I am sharing two monitors via a docking station with 3 personal computers It worked flawlessly right out of the box. Setup: Laptop 1 - TrendNet - docking station - two monitors (connects to the display), keyboard, mouse. Notebook 2 - TrendNet - docking station - two monitors (connection to the display), keyboard, mouse. - TrendNet - docking station - two monitors (Display-Link), keyboard, mouse (Lappy 3 needs additional resources. It only has a USA 3.x connector. I could probably use a USB hub, but it works.) Laptop 3 was also used to have some issues with the Plugable Share Switch. I believe it needs a power sharing switch that is. I found several USB 3.0 share switches and ONE 3.1 share switch. It was the cheapest and with the highest throughput. USB AA cables are a little strange, but I believe that's the only option besides USB C to USB 3.1. Regardless, 4 nice AA cables are included. People have complained that there's no 120V USB outlet, but that keeps the price down, so I think that's a plus. If you need it, buy one (wait for sale lol). Highly recommended for functionality and price! Nice and small too

Pros
  • BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY: The 4-port USB 3.1 sharing switch is backward compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices
