I've noticed that some of my glasses take on a 'frosted' appearance after leaving the dishwasher. After a little research, it turns out that there are two possible reasons: 1. The glass is cloudy because the detergent isn't strong enough.2. The glass is etched because the detergent is TOO strong! No. 1 is even better than No. 2 because cloudy glass can be cleaned again. Unfortunately, etching is permanent. I've been using the "ultra" cleaner for a while now and I have the impression that more is better. But I've already had to get rid of a couple of glasses due to etching (it seems the whole glass wasn't damaged, just individual parts) and two more have this problem which is starting to develop. I think I'll switch to a milder cleaner and see how it goes.
