Works well, very malleable, paintable. Actual wire gauge is about #16-18. I came to this conclusion by inserting it into a #22-16 spade crimp connector and it fitted EASY. Then I subtracted the calculated diameter of the magnet tube in the middle. In case you're wondering, I think it's just the length of wire that gets broken, not the wire itself.
