Review on πŸ’ͺ Highly Efficient Superior Pump 92341 1/3 HP Cast Iron Submersible Sump Pump featuring Vertical Float Switch for Optimal Performance by Kevin Flores

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good pump, dirty when installed

I got 1/3 hp with vertical float. Replacing the old one with this one was pretty easy until it was time to line up the tube from the pump with the check valve. The tube that screws into my pump goes straight up, then bends 90Β° to the horizontal section with the check valve and then another 90Β° to rise outwards. L from the pump did not match the check valve. Apparently the point where the vertical pipe is screwed into the pump is an inch and a half higher to the bottom of the sump than the old one. Instead of building a new L, which I would have had to run to the store for, I cut an inch and a half vertically and joined the two pieces with a splice (which I ended up having in my plumbing box). Once I connected the L and the sump cover (which is a heavy piece of plastic or rubber about 18 inches in diameter) the assembly became too heavy and fell on the ground a couple of times while I was working on things. Fortunately this is not the case. Externally they are undamaged, two thick power cords coming out of the pump, one plugged into the other in an outlet as the instructions suggest. Wand, like an old single fork. I had to rearrange a few boxes we kept there to make room. When I plugged it in, it quickly emptied the tray but didn't turn off. In the instructions it sounds like you connected the plugs incorrectly, but in my case it was because the float didn't turn them off fast enough. the pump sucked air. The printed instructions say the shutdown setting is adjustable, but it doesn't say how and it's not obvious. Q-and-A has a manufacturer's note here on how to do this, but in case you can't find it: There's a rubber boot on the bottom of the plastic rod that the float slides up and down. . To turn it off sooner, slide this jack up the pole a little; You'll probably have to experiment with how far "little way" is. There are a few buttons on the bar, you may have to slide it over the next button to make sure it doesn't move when it shouldn't. It doesn't slide easily (to prevent slipping I suppose) so you'll need to use some force and be careful not to break the stem - keep it close to the hub when pushing. I just installed it. today, so I can't say how long it will be.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
