I was looking for a backpack for our four year old. He's 51 inches tall and this thing looks stupid small on him. This is the right size for our 2 year old. Pros: Sturdy construction Multiple pockets Chest clip Large enough for field guides, snacks, small change of clothes, magnifying glass, etc. Cons: Side pockets too small for a water bottle Don't blame the company for overall size. Dimensions are given. That being said, I wish there was a backpack for kids that fell somewhere between this small tote and a school bag and didn't cost $60. It would also be nice if the straps had water bottle clips. Update after repeated use.
