Two tries and this product didn't work for me. I bought one and the top pan wouldn't come on at all. The display showed E1 and there was no heat on the plate. I couldn't find any of the E1 errors mentioned in the manual, so I called Cuisinart. They didn't know what it was and told me to go back to the Amazon. The replacement unit had both the top and bottom plates warm, but the unit didn't register when the bottom plate reached the desired temperature and stayed in preheat mode even though the grill plate was visibly hot. Too hot to use. I even tried setting it to the lowest temperature and it still didn't register that it was the desired temperature. So practically useless and I had to send it back in good condition.
