The fan arrived in solid factory packaging. The instructions are detailed and all the fan parts were in the box. nothing is missing. This fan has no complicated remote control or other electronics that can be lost or broken. Has 3 speeds, 55-92-197 rpm. Our fan was perfectly balanced from the start. The included balancing kit was not needed. The slow speed is very smooth and unobtrusive. Direction can be changed to circulate winter heat or updrafts to avoid disturbing papers or patterns in my wife's sewing room. As a mounting point for the standard fan assembly, we installed a strong brace between the attic joists. The bottom of the fan hangs about 14 inches from the ceiling. Two pull chains hang down below. We would buy it again without reservation.
