Bought to fix an old 2004ish 720p Sony Bravia HD TV with one HDMI port, which had stopped functioning. The converter works perfectly with the ebay Firestick and proves a great picture. I had to make minor screen position adjustments in my TV's menu settings to center the picture correctly, but it works!FYI.when setting up the Firestick on a TV this old or with 720p resolution you will need to configure the Firestick to output at the lower resolution before you plug it into the TV or no picture will appear and setup will be impossible. I did this by hooking the Firestick up to a newer TV and lowering the resolution output on the Firestick first (in "Settings" menus). Then it was just a matter of plugging it into the older TV and switching the TV contol in the Firestick "Settings" menus to the current TV. If you are setting up a brand new Firestick, I would run through the full setup on the new TV. It doesn't hurt anything and you will know it's working before you switch. Just don't forget to change the resolution! A little time consuming, but worth it to keep old equipment that still works.I have a 2nd gen Firestick for this TV, but I was curious if my 4K Firestick would also work. Before we discovered that the HDMI port was out, ebay customer service thought our 4K Firestick might be incompatible.so I ordered a 2nd gen; which not surprisingly also didn't work because the HDMI port was actually the issue. I went though my previous steps with the 4K and YES it does work! So you don't need an older Firestick, just a lower resolution output in the setup.
