** AVOID COPPER ALUMINUM WIRE (CCA) **

I purchased and received this cable in good condition and used it to wire new speakers in my car's front and rear door panels to install. Please do your homework before using the CCA cable in the car. With rising copper prices, it is sold more and more. At first I didn't know about the difference between Copper Aluminum (CCA) and Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) wire. OFC stranded wire is a 100% copper wire that I have used in the automotive industry for many years. It was only after installing and reading about the CCA that I realized I didn't want the CCA wiring running across the floor and inside the interior doors in my car. CCA wire does not have the same conductivity as OFC. As you apply more current to the CCA, the temperature of the wire tends to rise, increasing the wire's resistance. Therefore, there may be a voltage drop and an increase in generated heat due to CCA. I found this very discouraging as I had just installed my new car speakers with CCA. However, I decided that I didn't want to drive down the street in a car with my family, knowing that my car's door panels and floor could have heat dissipation issues. I just want to safely drive down the street and not open a hot dog stand with my new built in CCA hot dog machines. I have purchased replacement coils in 16 gauge and 14 gauge with 2 wire oxygen free copper wiring and am in the process of replacing the CCA wire in my car door. In my window to return to Revain, two spools of CCA wire went through. I just threw all the CCA cables in the trash. The health and safety of my family is more important to me than a few dollars. YMMV.
