I *don't need* these bowls, but I ordered them because the design is so cool. I like that the interior is decorated separately from the outside. My clear favorite is the shell with a black interior. This has become my favorite popcorn bowl (which means I use it for its intended purpose every day). But large bowls are also suitable for salad, pasta or curry, for example. I tend to eat off the plate whenever possible because it makes more sense. Definitely a potential downside to these items is that they are heavier than Corelle dinnerware, which I also love. I love light meals! And of course they break if you drop them. But that's the nature of most dishes (even Corelle Ware breaks if you try hard enough). But I put up with the weight because I'm such a fan of design. My favorite bowl brightens my day when it's popcorn time.
