I skated a lot in the winter. So I tried a lot of things (a lot of ice boots). The best thing I've tried until last year is YakTrax. So I will compare it with yak. They are both very easy to put on and take off. The Yak is slightly more streamlined than the equally sized Extremus, but comparable. Fed yaks work especially well on thin, dark ice. Extremus with chain and "claw". Based on my previous experience with ice drifts, the claw works well too. What I like the most is that most of the connection points are reinforced as shown in the picture, the rubber that connects the chain is much thicker. It gives me more confidence in using it and definitely extends its lifespan. That was my main complaint about Yak: the rubber is too thin. The chain is also double, with more gripping power and much stronger. I think it's a great idea. In general I am very satisfied. I can't wait for the lake to freeze over and test it.
