Total Failure - Textured Vinyl Vehicles

Send to the trash. Unfortunately, it was not possible to install it before the 30-day return period expired. Otherwise would have gone back Installed on a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. But this feedback applies to all newer cars/SUVs with properly installed windows (!) and any textured vinyl covering on the door. First I tried the plastic parts included in the kit. Tested by opening and closing windows. Complete failure - pieces of plastic just jumped out of the window. This is likely to happen to any new car/SUV with a good window seal. Then I tried strips of "3M" tape. Worked for a few hours then just fell off. The tape will not stick to the vinyl door panel as the vinyl has a slight texture. Many new cars/SUVs do this now. Same issue with the GPS/Phone suction cups on the dashboard. Another design flaw with this product is that the Grand Cherokee (and many other cars/SUVs) have a push-pull latching mechanism along the top of the door panel. This product does not take this into account and puts additional stress on the plastic part or the tape. The search for the best product continues. It was a waste of $25.

Pros
  • Windows can be rolled up and down when attached with self-adhesive tapes. Stays in place and never worry about scratching the window.
Cons
  • A few little things
