Great budget softbox

This is my first softbox so I don't have much to compare it to. I have a number of umbrellas that I use, but this gives me more control over where the light falls. The diffuser adds a wonderfully soft light that does incredible things with skin tones. The setup is pretty simple and it opens like an umbrella. There is a zip hole to thread the stand through the bottom and then install the flash in it. Pros: - Easy to install and remove, although it requires a little trick to fold the diffuser panel properly to reattach it. Carrying case with soft box. I'm sure if you do this multiple times it won't be a problem. - Size - This thing is really big (over 4 feet in diameter!), once you set it up you can throw a nice wall of light with this thing. I'm not sure if it will withstand a gust of wind, but I plan to use it mostly indoors. - Provides good lighting with flash and plug-in strobe. Disadvantages: - The flash is in the screen. If you have a manual flash, it's best to choose the settings before attaching the Velcro to the diffuser plate. With softboxes of this kind, you can't really avoid having that in them, but you should be aware of that before you buy it. There is no articulating arm on the mount, so you cannot rotate this device at an angle. Your only option is straight up and down. Since it's so big, it wasn't a problem for me. One of the reviewers suggested mounting it on a barbell stand, which would be a pretty easy solution to adjusting the angle. Overall I am very happy with this softbox and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive yet high quality expansion option. their photo equipment with flash. I have had good experiences with the Neewer brand so far. I have paired this softbox with a Neewer 250W studio flash and am very happy with the results.
