It is a soft box when being spread and like an umbrella when being folded, easy to use. The umbrella body made of high-density nylon material, high reflective. Double metal frame, light and solid. This is amazing stuff! Such a beautiful soft light from this one.

This is amazing! Such a beautiful soft light from this box and a killer price. Very easy to set up and looks professional on set. I wouldn't have been able to capture such an amazing indoor newborn photo shoot without her!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • This makes me angry

Came broken. I'm not sure I would trust this even with minimal use.

I just received my umbrella/softbox. Came broken. One of the parts of the screen was not attached (see photo). Interesting that the umbrella still opened properly but I am concerned about the quality and how long it will last even with minimal use as it was broken on arrival. I would like that very much, as I was satisfied with the Neewer light stand and would like to use the large softbox right away. However, the quality control for this item is not good. Now unfortunately I have to go through

otherwise it is a great product.

My ONLY gripe with this product is that you can only use the included diffuser OR the beehive grill that you get extra (I ordered and got one) BUT you can't use it at the same time . Plus it's a great product. did I say great? Excellent. The material seems strong enough for everyday use, the center bar is strong, yes yes yes. The fins are made of plastic or fiberglass that will NOT deform. I had already tipped it over with my lamp stand and flash mounted and those ribs even absorb the impact…

Easy to install, easy to remove and very portable

As a light modifier for my Canon 580EX external flash, this Neewer umbrella/softbox works really well. The front surface gives the subject plenty of soft, even light, although the depth of the softbox makes it a little awkward in the tight spaces I often shoot in (I photograph newborns, usually in their homes). . The umbrella is easy to open and close, so it packs into a handy travel bag for portability. The open slot at the bottom makes it easy to place on the stand and attaching the white…

Good design and great lighting

I liked my first one so much I bought a second one. These are excellent diffusers that are very easy to set up and use. It produces a very even cone of illumination suitable for individuals or groups. Now I take them to all sorts of shoots and leave the much more expensive ones in my bag. It's basically a giant silver umbrella with a removable front panel (velcro) to soften the light. The lighting stand is inserted into the bottom of the umbrella and the flash, either the candy bar or the…

At an unbeatable price, a must have whether on a budget or not.

A great softbox for now but should keep you on track over time. For now it's nice to have it back and great if you're shooting commercials, portraits or even photos of Marco. As I said, I'll make updates over time. Updated: July 17, 2016 So I know the difference in quality between a Pro model softbox and this Neewer softbox and I will say that I would love a Neewer softbox as a cheaper way to get the job done on a budget Price but I would like the general build quality to be on top of…

Great budget softbox

This is my first softbox so I don't have much to compare it to. I have a number of umbrellas that I use, but this gives me more control over where the light falls. The diffuser adds a wonderfully soft light that does incredible things with skin tones. The setup is pretty simple and it opens like an umbrella. There is a zip hole to thread the stand through the bottom and then install the flash in it. Pros: - Easy to install and remove, although it requires a little trick to fold the diffuser…

Use the boom and tilt as many times as you like

Priced like an umbrella, folds and folds like an umbrella (easy) but works like a giant expensive softbox. That's great. You get literally the same feature and I would imagine the durability would be worth at least 1/4 the cost. This thing is huge. It also casts light, creating soft, even lighting over a large area that reproduces rich tones and soft shadows. I like the color rendition of my old school Series 1 portrait lens. Remember that it is NOT comparable to a Westcott lens as Westcott…
