I got these as a replacement from Deer Stags because the shoes I bought - "Wells" - had a cracked sole. When I contacted Deer Stags they responded immediately and wanted to send me a replacement. Unfortunately, the Wells model was discontinued, leaving Everest as the next such moccasin. The Wells was very comfortable, with good lining and a durable outsole with shock absorbing rubber. The body of the shoe was also made of synthetic leather, but at the same time it was light. When I received these Everests they looked cheap! The case is made of some sort of polymer that looks very cheap. Right after my first day it becomes very easy. The shoes had a hard polymer sole and made strange noises when walking on hard ground. The outsole is also a big disappointment as it isn't exactly rubber but a hard polymer so it doesn't grip well when walking on a smooth hard floor. The second day it rained and I happened to be walking on a slightly wet hard floor (which I used to do in Wells) and these shoes slipped. Luckily I didn't fall, but there's no stopping me. In short, made of very cheap material. Another big problem is the shoes bit above my ankles for almost 4 days. It has no padding and the hard polymer body constantly rubs against my skin through (thick) 100% cotton socks. I had to add back pads and wear bandages so I could walk around without blistering my skin. There's memory foam and it's completely useless. This additional zero cushioning effect became a major annoyance by day three. it won't stay in place and has become wrinkled or loose. I could just take it out completely and Dr. Scholl, this really works. In short, stay away from them. I am very disappointed. I have bought Deer Stags for the last 5 years. But it looks like they left because of cheap material and poor design. For reference, even with broken soles, Wells were much better in comfort and style than cheap shoes. Everest.
