Review on 🎨 1 Pint POR-15 42088 Engine Enamel in Cadillac Dark Blue by Shane Popo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Shiny but finicky, best in paints and primers

I chose to apply this with a brush although I have had problems with brush marks. In this case, however, the paint was great - it has a fairly high viscosity and mattifies very well, forming a nice thick layer. The color almost matches the engine paint I got on my Mini in England - I need to see it age to match. I had problems with sensitivity to solvents. I expect it to be solvent resistant for an engine paint, including a quick wipe down to remove grease (I could even live with matting the finish with acetone as it's pretty extreme, but.) on the can resulted in the Lacquer even without heavily wrinkled using a solvent to degrease the surface. And where the acetone hit the surface, the paint softened and could be scraped off with a plastic spatula (which I had to do because of the creases). I only did one layer and that worked the best.
