This item is really cool. I have it in a small 15 gallon tank which is large. I thought it would be a lot smaller and originally intended to place it as an accent piece with a Mayan head decoration and it's a lot larger than I thought it would be and I can't fit both of them in it. . So I dropped the Mayan head and used the volcano as the centerpiece of the aquarium surrounded by plants and it looks really cool. It blows very, very small bubbles. Almost like a constant "fog" in the aquarium. The light is very bright and it really looks like a real volcano. So in a smaller tank you can use it as a centerpiece, but in a larger tank it might be too small to use as a center piece. I agree with some complaints. There is no gap in the volcano where the line could be routed, but this is easily repaired with gravel. There are 3 holding cords to attach with suction cups on the side and hide in plants. It wasn't fun. And I totally agree that the instructions are vague. A chart follows, but I felt most of it was already put together and the chart is confusing. The drawing is so small that it is not visible. If you have the patience to spend a few minutes laying everything out and looking at the diagram, it should be pretty easy. Inserting into the tank with suction cups was more difficult than assembling. Overall I think it's very well made and worth the money. That's an amazing thing in a tank.
