These are a really unique set of boots/shoes. They wear like a high-top on the ankle and sort of a flat bottomed shoe (think Ari Force One) on the sole. They have what I would refer to as average arch support, which for me is sufficient. The Leather Upper is very thick and seems to be of high quality, and the rubber sole is firm and supportive. The liner is a sued or faux suede material and is very comfortable on the skin if your wearing them with a lower cut sock. Depending on your style, these can be worn with shorts(like a sneaker) or jeans, and work with more formal clothing as well. If you wear them with a jean or chine draped over them, they provide a more formal look, but with denim rolled up or a pair of khaki shorts, they become more of a style piece. Great shoe all around.
