I bought a small for my teenage daughter and a medium for myself. Husband needs L or XL. The ears don't hurt and there is a space between the mouth and the material of the mask so it doesn't touch the lips and you can breathe normally. Still a mask so don't want to breathe without it but better than cloth or disposable masks. It is also washable and smells nice after washing.
