I like measuring my own rings and I now have a good quality grooved steel mandrel in stock so I bought this piece of scrap to measure a few rings. It was supposed to be steel but my hammer tore it slightly (deep dents) and only calibrated a few rings to the point where it's unusable. If you only want this to round flattened rings, that works fine, but don't try to use it for sizing as the metal it's made of isn't quality steel, or steel at all. What a waste of about $20.
