To be honest the first of the two products I bought was stained and as far as I can tell it's obvious that someone definitely used this product before receiving it. There is a crust on the surface, which does not appear on new clean products. Still, it's a light doily, but still. Wouldn't buy again as I didn't use it, bought it new and am disappointed. The skin is clearly visible in the photo. It's of good thickness, suggesting that it keeps heat evenly distributed across the hotplate rather than radiating it out onto the surrounding table.
