I kept replacing the big D batteries in my old Maglight. When the bulb finally blew out I had no idea where to find a replacement and decided to redo the LEDs to eat fewer batteries. I've ordered a CREE LED bulb and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. When it arrived (very quickly) it was packaged very well and fitted perfectly on the same collar as the old bulb. When I turned on the flashlight, I was very pleasantly surprised by both the breadth and range of the light. Much further than the old lightbulb and it eliminated what I never liked about Maglights. The little black circle in the middle of the light spot is gone! The light from the LED is even over the entire area of the light circle, with the center being significantly brighter and further away. I am very satisfied with this lamp and I recommend it to everyone.
