Let me start by saying that 90% of the reviews I write are 5 stars. not this one. My 21 month old has a vtech picnic hamper and loves it. She played with it all day when we first got it and every day since. I thought it would be like. it is not. I thought the people who wrote reviews about this thing being annoying were just whiners because everyone loved it so much. Not this case. This kettle is very annoying. The sound of the water and lights are cute but she never stops talking and my daughter hates it (which is surprising as she usually likes loud, nasty toys). I don't feel like it's particularly educational. It basically says the kettle is half full or empty, which is beyond anything a toddler can understand. She loves the cake that comes with it because it looks like a puzzle and like all toddlers she loves to carry things around. We can also talk about the colors and shapes of the cake pieces. But the cake itself is not worth the money. Spend money on a picnic basket if you don't already have one.
