I have been hiking and climbing the mountains of New England for over 40 years. I have had and loved many backpacks, but the Osprey Atmos is by far the most comfortable and comfortable backpack I have ever owned. The open-mesh back frame not only withstands loads, but is also well ventilated (the back never gets wet). There are so many handy features like a "built-in" rain cover, hip belt pockets, and corner water bottle pockets (you can easily get your water bottle out while hiking) if you don't like the large water bladder pocket. . This is my pack for everything but expedition style/long trips.
