If there was a warning about the bulb/sphere getting hot quickly when touched, I missed it. Otherwise the thing is very good. I actually got it for my 4 (almost 5) year old granddaughter, it's hard to say who loves it more. Me, her mother and herself had a lot of fun experimenting with sound tuning. He didn't go home with her, so the dog isn't being tested. Pretty sure it'll break if one of those stupid dogs knocks it over so it's here to stay. The only other reason the last star is skipped is that there is no sensitivity control. Focus energy higher or lower. But if you want a shiny, Tesla-style ball of light, this is perfect!
