I had a similar but smaller shoulder backpack and bought this one because it offers more space. I'm a 5ft 11in male and this backpack is very comfortable on both my shoulder and back. Simply pull forward to access the water bottle or items from the compartments. Thus, there are four separate areas for storing items. It's easy to store my camera and two light jackets, and there's plenty of room for many other items. The drinking bottle stays in the holder and does not fall out. Looks good and feels good! My only complaint is the lack of small zippered areas in the various pockets for storing keys, camera batteries, etc.
