Light Ash Brown 6A Gives my hair a coppery orange brown

My natural hair color is medium blonde (middle photo). When it comes time to color my hair, I look for a cool and ashy color because my hair turns red. I've read that Clairol produces warm and red tones, so I stay away from that brand. I read that L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference ASH is not red. enough --He did NOT draw red or copper-- hooray! I was so happy; However, I'm not 100% happy because it was NOT medium brown - it was DARK, dark brown, almost black. I thought I found the best ash color and just needed to make it lighter. (See last photo for color 5A) So the next time I needed to dye my hair I bought L'Oreal light ash brown (6A) thinking it would be the same but more average brown. I wanted. The color is pretty ugly. (copper light orange brown). A friend said she noticed my hair was red on top. Look at the first photo - oh my god. That was my experience with these two colors.
