I love this sunscreen! It's a powder, not a lotion or cream. Personally, I don't like using sunscreen lotions or creams because I find them thick and heavy. Mineral Fusion offers the same protection from UVA and UVB rays as light powder. I'm going to give you a little explanation on the types of sunscreen (I'm actually a licensed medical esthetician). Chemical sunscreens (creams and lotions) are absorbed by the skin and then absorb UV rays, convert them to heat and release it from the body. They usually contain organic (carbon-based) compounds like oxybenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, and avobenzone. Physical sun protection sits on the skin and reflects the sun's rays. The minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main active ingredients of the physical blocks. Powder sunscreens are physical, while creams and lotions are mostly chemical. Personally, not only do I love the lightweight feel of Mineral Fusion Sunscreen Powder, but I also prefer that UV rays are reflected rather than absorbed; although absorption eventually releases them from your body. So you got it. It's definitely a subjective preference, but whatever you choose, make sure it says "Broad Spectrum". This promises to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays.
