The mug has a great lid! I have tried different ceramic coffee mugs with lids. Many lids don't seal well, so if you try to drink with the lid on it will leak (yes, coffee stains on clothes) so you'll have to remove the lid to drink. The lid on this mug is great! No problem drinking it. The cup design is great. However, it looks more "ceramic" and unfinished - not as polished as some other ceramic mugs. And the inside is white. I'm not sure how well it handles coffee stains. I wish the interior was more polished, so probably more torsionally stiff. I will update after using it for a while. Update after a few weeks of use: the inside doesn't get dirty any easier than mugs with a shiny inside! I have actually found that this is because there is no gloss inside, the lid fits snugly.
