I have worn and enjoyed the GT-1000 for many years and it provides the support I need. This pair fits almost exactly like the previous Asics, except the laces are MUCH short. In my experience, Asics need to be broken in for a good fit, so the laces usually need to be adjusted (tightened) for the first few miles, but that's ridiculous. I actually had to take the insoles out so I could slip them on and tie my laces. I'm sure after a few weeks of wearing them around the house they will stretch enough to put the inserts back in and be ready for the road, but I'd really like to buy matching laces from Asics or better yet. if they could send them WITH THE SHOES first. It looks like these shoes were returned from a previous customer who gave up. At this price I might send them back. For the first time I am dissatisfied with a pair of Asics.
