My best advice is to read the instructions carefully and follow them. You have to be pretty precise with how you load the part that holds the bottom. The machine works better if you let it warm up for more than a few minutes. I'd say about five minutes and it's very hot. The milk frother works great. I've seen some comments from people saying that milk isn't actually heated. Again, I think it's when people don't let the vapor heat up enough before using it. I've found that it's best to froth the milk first, let the machine heat up for a minute or so, and then brew the espresso. You'll have to experiment a little to find your favorite espresso. You can add sugar to the milk when you froth it, you can add flavor to an espresso cup, you can mix it with cocoa, there are so many possibilities. I think it's very important to follow the cleaning instructions every time. I would say that cleaning takes about five minutes. One last thing, some people say it leaks. It only drips if you don't follow the instructions. The instructions clearly state that you must drain the water when using it or it will drip. As long as you do this there is no leakage. In addition, you should look carefully the first time you use it. If your espresso is dripping rather than a full, steady stream, you may not have removed the small piece of clear tape from the bottom of the water block. It happened to us, but it was easy to fix.
