That's nonsense! The price went from $4 a piece to $8 a piece. And they don't last 1 to 6 months like others suggest. I have about a week of use before they start to stink, especially the water reservoir. Why don't others have this problem? I've only seen 1 other review saying the same thing. Does everyone else just shave with a smelly razor? I've tried using alcohol, distilled water etc, I've had good luck adding medicinal alcohol to the filter and water tank after each use, but this only extended use to 1 month. My solution is to put the water container and filter in the fridge immediately after use. I don't even wait for the drying process to finish. After washing, I remove the water tank and filter and put it in the fridge. The dryer continues to run. I only brush after every third shave. And I rinse my razor with tap water before using the cleaner. This process extends the life of the cleaning cartridge to about two months. But be careful, if you forgot to put it in the fridge you can start over with a new cartridge. Once the stench is in there, you can't get rid of it. You also need to empty the container. I also put alcohol in a water container and give it a little shake before filling with fresh water. Cartridges are unfortunately necessary as they clean with a small amount of lube which makes a huge difference when shaving. I'm just outraged by the price increase. I have always loved this razor and all these years later I still use my original foil and blade. I'm just outraged by the price increase for cleaning cartridges. The next razor will be Braun.
