I replaced a 14 inch lenovo flex 5 for $700 so will compare to that. The body of the ideapad 3 14 is made of sleek, sleek plastic, but feels more solid. I really see an increase in performance. I never use a touchscreen, so I gladly didn't. I expect this laptop to hold up better with a standard hinge than the broken Flex 360 hinge. What's really nice: This new laptop is 0.8 pounds lighter, about a quarter of an inch less wide and an inch less deep for the same screen size , which is an unexpectedly significant improvement. The new fingerprint scanner works better. Both are compatible with Windows 11 and have plenty of ports to connect to. Dislikes: The display is okay, but the old Flex seems to have better contrast. The IdeaPad looks a bit blurry in comparison. Also, I would prefer the power connector to be on the right rather than the left.
