This is identical to the mount that comes with our Garmin Nuvi. Although the suction cup will loosen over time and fall off (worst case scenario), I attached it to the windshield with clear silicone adhesive. We use our GPS in two different cars so this was purchased for the second car. Mounting as low and centered as possible on the windshield provides a good view of the road and eliminates the need to look at the GPS. It also advises against tinkering with it while driving, as it's out of the driver's reach. The ball and socket on the mount allows for a better viewing position. Having used maps for the vast majority of my trips, I find GPS handy as it gives me a preview of upcoming direction changes and an estimated time of arrival. It's easy with this mount.
