Let me start by saying *DO NOT follow my stretching methods, every body/ear is different .*Now I've used this set from the smallest size to the 00 cones I have now and oddly enough I ordered the XL set to go bigger, from the same company! This set of gauges is definitely quality. I was skeptical at first about the ending, which to be honest, it turned out well. I've never seen them completely removed or been annoyed by anything weird with the stubs. I stretch my ears about every two weeks, sometimes missing measurements, but rarely. I definitely like metal gauges over plastic/rubber or wood, at least for these smaller sizes. The weight of the metal cones seems to help prepare your ears for the next size up, at least I'm guessing. The surface is very smooth with no seams or edges. Happy to report that my paranoid suspicion that I stabbed my neck in my sleep didn't come true, haha, they're blunt on the ends considering the little ones can get a bit pointy. So yes, I would recommend them to anyone trying to stretch themselves. As a tip, if you're having trouble stretching but are sure it's time, try it right after a hot shower. I'm not sure if this scientifically helps stretch the skin, but if nothing else has seemed to help, then that's the 4 to 8 range. My #1 complaint about them is the length of the "flats" surface on the cones. I have massive earlobes (to fit my 8 1/8" head) and when I squeeze them while stretching they need a little more surface area and these ear buds feel a bit short and I've adjusted to close the cavity everyday avoid this -in ha ha obviously this is a particular concern as most people have small ears but keep this in mind especially if you have LARGE earlobes also the o-rings seem a little finicky at 00 can I can't get my hands on them. Stay on the cones, it seems a bit wrong. Overall 4/5 stars no problem, very satisfied. (Ps I haven't used this ointment at all, just don't trust it)
